The show...

Yes.. even if u cant believe it
I'm here to update my blog =p
Been ages ryte.. ouh waddaheck..
Coz now, there are stories to tell..

"Pulangkanlah"

Haish... a maelstrom of emotions hit me once it was done..
It was everything, yeah.. everything..
I look back at the days when the idea was born..
I think it was Zana who wanted to do something about fairytales
* if it wasn't zana den sorry eh dah luper ah saper =p *
den yeah, the idea was slowly developed..
i could remember how excited we were
nak mix fairytales lah, ni lah, tu la.. sumer nak!
abeh yang satu nak nyanyi, yang satu nak joget, yang satu nak jadi hero..
the enthusiasm sparked even before anything was written down...

And then it was process, process, process...
Script, music, technicalities, etc etc...
Work began early but biasa ah, susah nak meet dateline..
Kata SSP =p

Joining the script writing team was shakinah, khai, and amalina.. new batch of cubs =)
Zana ngan aku just kecoh kecoh je sana sini...
Come to think of it, it was tough man to do the script
Like.. getting a solid plot
Finding areas to manipulate...
Thinking of the characteristics of each character
And of coz, the ending is always a problem
SSP hates happy endings, i dunno why
S'been like that since last time..
So it took awhile to kill the happy doves..

Script done, audition time!!
I've always loved audition..
Haha, this time, last year's batch got to sit wif me at da director's table
Kaysiao eh korang..
And then they came.. the new cubs..
Wow.. i'm always amazed at raw talent..
If you're wise enough u can spot hidden talents..
Some are natural, some needs polishing, some nak kene korek dalam dalam..
but yeah, that's the fun part, coz that was how we all started
and we're reminded of the times when it was us who were auditioning...
Sumer nervous giler nye, anticipating what the director gonna ask them to do
Hafal script giler babi nye, sampai tersasul-sasul member eh hahaha
Masok je terus kene soal. Hadis siak, nak step tekan orang
Dier buat muker siak dier, abeh step garang ah ni ah tu ah..
Padahal dalam hati member tengah gelakkan orang seh
So yeah, suro act, nyanyi.. stuff like dat
I remembered when Amalina walked into the room..
We asked her to sing "the" song..
She sang...
After 2 lines i told her to stop..
She thot we didnt like it..
After she left, all of us agreed that our bulu roma berdiri..
She was awesome =)

Next was casting.. tough time man
Apparently tak cukop orang
So called up good ol frens to join the band wagon
Bob, a good ol fren since MI days..
Syafiq, the crazy kid who's been waiting for his opportunity
Shaiful, a cast member from last year's show
Eventually these 3 became Babengs
* untok pengetahuan semua, Babeng = Baboon + Kambeng *
For da rest, we tried a new system of not confirming the cast till we're satisfied
It worked, but there were a few casualties, they left..
Sayang ah...
Sometimes you gotta understand that things won't always turn out the way u want
For everything else, i guess we picked em well =)

Trainings started.. very slow progress...
Ourselves to blame? Definitely...
I just hope things like this wont happen again for the future cubs

On the music side of things, it seemed pretty good
Joining us were Jeff Natawate and Afiq Junior
Bloody talented buggers, we're lucky to catch em
Jeff was like an answering prayer from me n Jad
we didnt know who could replace us in percussions, but Jeff came along
Afiq on the other hand is a unique breed
He plays a friggin acordian..
Tell me, where else can u find a teen who plays this shit these days..
Afiq does =)
Compliments to Jeff and Afiq heheh..

Taking over the props was Nazif
He works like 24/7 man..
Always bugging me whenever we bump into each other..
"Eh biler dapat duit ah? I want to buy this this this this.."
Kiwak... got ATM tattoed on my forehead ker..
But i admire his enthusiasm and consistency..
Hahah, member cakap je nak tarik budak budak Nurdeen jadi Propstars
Eventually i think all of the Propstars were guys
Nazif, next time don't be cheeky =p

Adillah and Nurul did costumes...
Dey did well ah if i shd say..
Look at what the cast wore on D-Day
Kan lawa tu!

As we went along, things got tougher...
S'tough to get a whole bunch of people to listen
And i don't like to lose my temper..
I tried to avoid... tried..
The seniors did their best to make things work
But sometimes shit calls for more out of a person
Haish...

D-Day...
The day before this, i lost it and threw a blast of temper
For just one second, i thot everyone was shocked..
And then u can hear the silence which was like extinct before this happened..
Yeah, apparently Efin can lose control too ya know..
And hours before rehearsal i did it again..
Should i say that they deserved it? Definitely.
But i could'ave done it in a better way...
For all that, I'm sorry guys..
Sorry it had to be that way..

Minutes before the show, we rallied backstage
A few words nonetheless.. and a prayer
The show is ours, the stage is yours..
Go kick some ass..

You guys were awesome.. no doubt!

Nizal and As, fabulous chemistry on stage
Hadis and Nad, lovely man, jus lovely...
Acap and Su.. haha, what can i say..
Acap was just himself on stage and we loved it to bits
Su..alahaaai sumer kata cute!
Tubbies and Babengs, kickass performance!
Babengs binatang paling burok, Tubbies paling cute..

and Fuad will always have his brader lurp wif him wahahahaha!
*at this point i know he's cursing me already*
Pokoks! Eventually you guys made the Magic forest alive ah! Awesome!
To all de other cast, i dont hafta mention ur names
but everyone will remember the magic you did on stage
You guys were kickass awesome, each and everyone..

The Musicians
Shamil on guitars, Jad on bass
Didi on djembe, Jeff on drums and rebana
Afiq Junior on acordian, keyboard, saw, whistle... all dat jazz
With this kindof line up, no doubt the music was drop dead awesome!
I'm just so glad that we've got you guys with us..
Such talent.. none wasted.. Just awesome man, AWESOME!

The Propstars
Awesome.. really really awesome...
A huge jump from last years..
Since everything was done from scratch..
Eventually it looked awesome on stage
From the forest walls to the flying rocks and scissors
And the huge cupboard *tu bende senang pecah seh*
Nazif, you're awesome...
Sorry for halting your progress if i ever did so
You and your team did awesomely well..
You guys will definitely be in my hall of fame

The Crew

Even before the cast even existed
